Whyld Foundation
Student Opportunity Grant

Because sometimes all a child needs is a small opportunity to change everything.

 

At Whyld Foundation, we believe every child deserves access to growth, confidence, and opportunity—regardless of financial barriers.

 

Our Student Opportunity Grant provides $100–$300 micro-grants to students within the Carson City School District to support educational and personal development opportunities.

What This Grant Covers

Funds must be used for a specific, approved purpose, including:

 

  • Sports registration fees

  • Club or activity participation

  • Educational programs or tutoring

  • Equipment (sports gear, supplies, uniforms)

  • Skill-building opportunities (camps, workshops)

 

Funds are paid directly to programs or vendors when possible.

Who Can Apply

Students must:

 

  • Be enrolled in Carson City School District

  • Demonstrate a desire to participate in a growth opportunity

  • Have a financial need or barrier to participation

How It Works

  1. Submit application

  2. Application reviewed by Whyld Foundation committee

  3. Selected applicants are notified

  4. Funds are distributed directly to program/vendor

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on:

 

  • Student motivation and effort

  • Clear purpose of funds

  • Impact on student growth

  • Financial need

 

 

All applications are reviewed using a fair and non-discriminatory process
