Whyld Foundation - Bridging the Gap in Local Support
The Whyld Foundation began with one simple belief — that every child deserves to go home to a full pantry and a full heart.
In Carson City, we’re fortunate to have several incredible organizations dedicated to helping children and families facing food insecurity. Many of these programs focus on providing assistance based on income requirements or supplying weekend meal kits that ensure kids don’t go hungry when school isn’t in session.
The Whyld Foundation exists to fill the space in between. Our mission focuses on the weeknights—those often-overlooked days when a child may not qualify for certain programs but still goes home to an empty cupboard. By working directly with school social workers, we’re able to discreetly provide food to children who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
We see our work as a bridge, connecting the generosity of our community with the needs that remain unmet. Together, with other local organizations, we’re creating a stronger safety net so that every child in Carson City has what they need to grow, learn, and thrive.
